Infused with a fresh passion, John’s Grill is redefining the Mukilteo food scene. Established Labor Day, 2005, John’s Grill quickly became known for their selection of exquisite steaks and seafood. To spend more time with their family, John and Lisa Alden retired in 2020, but not before hand picking their replacement. Chris Shirley, the Owner and Executive Chef of Trails End Taphouse & Restaurant, would take over. Chris brought in Jolene Slagle, Chef de Cuisine and Robin Schwindt, Bar Manager and Pastry Chef. Since then, they have focused on bringing the quality and passion John’s Grill is known for to more contemporary dishes, and pairing them with some of the finest wines and cocktails available. Thanks to John Alden’s extensive training of the incoming kitchen staff, you can still enjoy classics like their crab cakes, or beef stroganoff, just the way John made them. Also popular, are many of the recent additions conceptualized by Chef Jolene and inspired by modern trends in French and American cuisine.
Upgrading the bar has been one of the main focuses since Chris took over. Closer to works of art than cocktails, the drinks at John’s Grill never disappoint; if you haven’t tried the Waterfront Sour and Espresso Martini yet, you’re missing out! Additionally, they offer one of the most diverse wine and whiskey selections in the area, featuring bottles of Chateau Montelena, Daou, Weller, Colonel E.H. Taylor, and much more!
Uniting John’s Grill across the decades is the shared vision of providing fine gourmet food with the Mukilteo community in a cozy, welcoming atmosphere.
Walk-ins are welcomed!
